Billing and Insurance FAQ

Northland Health Center accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, VA, and most commercial insurances for medical, behavioral health, and dental services.

Northland Health Centers provides care to all individuals regardless of their ability to pay. We offer a Sliding Fee Scale discount program to help reduce out-of-pocket costs, whether you have insurance or not.

If you have insurance, the amount you will pay out-of-pocket for a visit will depend on your insurance plan and benefits. If you do not have insurance and qualify for the Sliding Fee Scale, you will be responsible for your nominal fee.  The cost for a visit depends on what you see a provider for and various other factors. We work hard to provide you with quality and affordable healthcare.

You will receive a monthly account statement and the balance will be due within 30 days. If you are not able to pay the balance in full, monthly payment arrangements can be set up with the Billing Department.  Please contact the Billing Department for additional information.

Northland Health Centers will send a monthly billing statement after payment is received from your insurance plan and it is confirmed that the balance is owed by you. The length of this process depends on how long it takes to receive a response from your insurance plan. Upon certain denials from your insurance carrier, Northland Health Centers may also file an appeal with your insurance to attempt to secure payment for the services provided.

Please contact your insurance company to determine if the services and procedures are covered. Your insurance company will have the most accurate and up-to-date information about your policy and your claim. If your insurance company is not able to assist, please contact the Billing Department.

Billing Department staff is available to review your account and resolve any issues that you have. Please call 877-609-3577, option 2 to speak with a Billing staff member.  Our office hours are Monday – Thursday from 8:00am – 5:00pm and Fridays from 8:00am – 3:30pm.

To ensure prompt payment of your claims, please provide Northland Health Centers with your most up-to-date insurance card during your appointment.  If your insurance information has changed, please contact the Billing Department.
