Northland Health Centers is proud to announce the addition of Jazlyn Bates, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, to its Rolette clinic. Jazlyn is the first behavioral health provider to serve the community and region since Northland Health Centers established services in the community in 2003. With a strong background in behavioral health and a deep commitment to patient-centered care, Bates brings a wealth of experience and compassion to the Northland team.
Bates provides psychiatric services to children (ages 12+), adolescents, and adults, offering care for a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, and more. Her approach emphasizes evidence-based practice and building therapeutic relationships rooted in trust and empathy.
A North Dakota native, Bates grew up on a farm north of Rugby. She began her nursing journey at Lake Region State College, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse credential in 2019. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at North Dakota State University in 2021 and recently earned her Master of Science in Nursing—Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Mount Marty University in 2025. She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA).
With six years of nursing experience across behavioral health, cardiology, and family practice, Bates is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and empowering patients through personalized care.
Outside of her professional life, Bates enjoys spending time with her husband and children, camping, crafting, baking, and diving into podcasts and audiobooks.
